So the nuclear power station can produce about $2.5 Million a day, and they pay $4 million in interest, how many years will it take to pay off that $30 Billion loan?
So my answer is to look at the new nuclear power station in Georgia, where back in 2007, someone suggested they can build a $9 or $10 Billion nuclear power station, and then located some land, did the design, and by 2009 started construction. It is supposed to make $4 Million a day in electricity, and save everyone a lot of money, and everyone cheered!
Meanwhile if Georgia had spent $5 Billion to build a wind turbine system, they can not do it in Georgia, they do not have strong enough winds. So if they built the 5,000 MW wind farm in Iowa or Oklahoma, then spend another Billion to install a 2,000 MW power line, they could have done that for only $6 Billion and completed it within 2 years.
This has happened before.
Offshore wind power is another option for the states near Georgia. Lets hope they can install about 5,000 MW of wind power off the shores of Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, and another nearby states.
Nuclear power is something you do not want. Normally the places are over budget, and take much longer to start production than the builders will tell you. The figure once the place has spent $10 Billion, they might as well finish the project, even if the cost is going way way over the original budget. So why not spend $2 billion more, you already spent $10 billion, and if you don’t spent this $2 Billion more, then all of that $10 Billion is not going to get you any electricity. So at $15 Billion, they finally get it running. And only 10 years later than the promise. And nobody goes to jail for breaking the promise of a $8 Billion power plant. Afterall if you lock up the builder, then there is no warranty, and nobody is going to want to work on your new power plant, basically making it worthless.

Then one must consider that if the project is delayed by 1 year, the $10 Billion loan will increase by $500 million. So by delaying the project by 5 years, and now the outstanding debt was over $20 Billion, then it is $1 Billion added each year! So in 2022, they completed the project, with a total cost of $30 Billion. Interest cost at 5% is $1.5 Billion per year, or over $4 million a day!
Or Georgia could spend $5 Billion on a solar farm, and have 5,000 MW of solar panels, and then produce on average 25,000 MWh of solar power each day, and that can save them about $350 Million a year in natural gas or coal fuel savings each year.
